Mount Toubkal

Story

Inspired by this year’s successful Trek to Mount Toubkal, the George Eliot Hospital Charity is delighted to announce our 2nd Mount Toubkal Trek.

Set in the High Atlas Mountain range in Morocco, Mount Toubkal is the highest peak in North Africa and the Arab world. During the Trek you will be able to catch the sunrise at the summit with views over the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert.

Mount Toubkal stands 13,671ft (4,167m) above sea level and commands superb views of the High Atlas Mountains. The trek passes through impressive landscapes on well-defined paths, dramatic views towards Marrakech and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. As you pass through remote villages, terraced fields, and waterfalls, you will gain an insight into the life of the friendly Amazigh people.

Taking place on Thursday 17th April 2025 till Monday 21st April 2025

The funds raised from the Mount Toubkal Trek will go to the new George Eliot Hospital Breast Care Unit, to provide excellent care to our patients and their families, provide funding for life-changing and life-saving equipment, and to develop staff wellbeing at the Breast Care Unit.

Every member of staff, across all our hospital, strives to deliver the best patient experience and relies on the George Eliot Hospital Charity to fund things over and above what the NHS can pay for. The legacy of charitable giving to the NHS spans decades and has shaped the healthcare we all receive today. Treating hundreds of people every day, the George Eliot Hospital is a source of pride, gratitude, and love for so many – and cares for us no matter who we are, or where we are from. Our NHS staff are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, looking after our family and friends.

WE WISH TO MAKE SURE THIS TREK IS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES OF YOUR LIFE – AND REST ASSURED WE WILL SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY!

Thanks in Advance, together we can make a difference!
