The George Eliot Hospital Charity has received a generous donation of £1250 from Griff & Coton Sports and Miners Welfare Club to support their Neonatal Vein Finder Campaign.
Trustee Kevin Crutchlow, Accounts Manager Yvonne Edwards, and Bar Manager Paula Brown personally visited the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at George Eliot Hospital to present the cheque. The funds were raised through an Ascot Ladies Day event held at the club, multiple raffles, and donations from club members.
Kevin, Yvonne, and Paula chose to support the SCBU as each of them has had grandchildren who were born and cared for by the dedicated team at the unit.
Kevin Crutchlow expressed the club’s commitment to ongoing support for the hospital, stating, “It’s not our first time raising money for George Eliot Hospital, and it won’t be the last. It’s nice to see our fundraising efforts helping our local hospital and community.”
Sanjay Jagatia, Fundraising Manager for GEH Charity, expressed his gratitude for the donation, highlighting its impact: “We are very grateful for the most recent cheque donated by Griff & Coton Sports and Miners Welfare Club. This cheque has tipped us over our £7,000 target for the Neonatal Vein Finder Campaign, which will allow our healthcare professionals to find veins in babies more quickly and accurately, reducing discomfort for babies and stress for parents.”
The donation marks another milestone in the club’s ongoing support for the hospital, reinforcing the importance of community contributions in enhancing patient care.
