George Eliot Hospital Charity Funds Radios for Intensive Treatment Unit Patients

Patients in the Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU) at George Eliot Hospital can now enjoy the comfort of music, thanks to the funding of five radios by the George Eliot Hospital Charity. These radios allow patients to listen to the radio or connect via Bluetooth to play their favourite music, helping them to relax and support their recovery.

Christina Redfern, Matron for Clinical Support Services at George Eliot Hospital, highlighted the positive impact of this initiative, stating, “The radios are an easy way to help our patients relax with some home comforts.”

Sanjay Jagatia, Fundraising Manager for George Eliot Hospital Charity, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “It’s great to see the radios in use in ITU and the comfort it brings to patients.”

The initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment to enhancing patient experience and well-being, with the George Eliot Hospital Charity playing a crucial role in making these improvements possible. The addition of these radios brings a sense of normality and relaxation to patients during their time in intensive care.
